Quartz countertop cost in Seattle & the Puget Sound
Quartz is the most popular countertop we install, and the first question is almost always price. Below are the ranges we see for quartz kitchens around Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma and South King County, what pushes a quote up or down, and the colors that give you the most look for the least money. We fabricate in our own Auburn shop, so the same slab usually costs less than going through a big-box installer.
Quartz price ranges by tier
Installed pricing includes template, fabrication, a standard edge, sink and cooktop cutouts and installation. Ranges are typical for our market — your exact number depends on layout and slab yield.

What actually drives the price
Square footage and slab yield
You pay for the slab you use, not just the finished top. An awkward layout can force a second slab even when the finished square footage is small, so the way we lay out your pieces affects the total.
Edge profile
A standard eased or bullnose edge is included in most quotes. Mitered waterfall edges and thick built-up edges add labor and material.
Cutouts and sink type
An undermount sink, cooktop cutout and faucet holes are routine. Farmhouse sinks and integrated drainboards take more fabrication time.
Backsplash
A 4-inch stone backsplash or a full-height slab backsplash uses extra material. Tile is usually the cheaper way to get pattern behind a range.
Demo and disposal
Removing and hauling old laminate or tile counters is a small add. Plumbing disconnect and reconnect is handled separately.
Brand and collection
Cambria, Caesarstone, Cosentino and MSI all have entry and designer lines. The collection you pick moves the price more than the brand name does.

Six ways to lower your quartz quote
- Use a remnant for vanities, laundry tops and bar tops instead of buying a second full slab.
- Keep a standard eased or bullnose edge and skip the mitered waterfall.
- Choose a pattern that does not need vein matching across seams.
- Do tile behind the range instead of a full-height slab backsplash.
- Keep the existing sink location so plumbing work stays simple.
- Pick from stock collections we already carry rather than a special-order slab.
Small tops are the biggest easy win: countertop remnants often cover a vanity or bar top for a fraction of full-slab pricing.
Quartz cost questions
How much do quartz countertops cost in the Seattle area?
Most Seattle-area quartz kitchens land between $60 and $80 per square foot installed, with value collections starting lower and designer Calacatta patterns going higher. Every quote depends on your layout, edge and cutouts, so we price from your measurements for free.
How much is a typical 40 square foot kitchen in quartz?
At mid-range pricing, a 40 square foot kitchen usually falls in the low-to-mid thousands installed, including template, fabrication, standard edge, sink and cooktop cutouts and install. Send your layout and we will give you an exact number.
Is quartz cheaper than granite or quartzite?
Entry-level granite is often the least expensive natural option, mid-range quartz and granite overlap closely, and quartzite is typically the most expensive of the three because the slabs cost more and take longer to fabricate.
What is the cheapest way to get quartz countertops?
Pick a solid or lightly speckled color from a value collection, keep a standard edge, avoid vein matching across seams and use remnants for any small tops. Those four choices usually save more than negotiating on the slab itself.
