Quartz countertops
Engineered quartz is roughly 90% ground natural quartz bound with resin, which makes it non-porous, stain resistant and consistent slab to slab. It is the most requested countertop we install across Seattle, the Eastside and South King County.

Matte dark surface for islands and modern perimeters.
Because there are no pores, wine, coffee, citrus and oil sit on the surface instead of soaking in. There is no sealing schedule, and because the slabs are manufactured, what you see in the sample is what shows up in your kitchen — which matters if you are ordering multiple slabs for a large island plus perimeter.
Quartz miters cleanly, so waterfall island ends and 3 cm mitered edges look seamless. Running the same slab up the wall as a full-height backsplash is one of the most common upgrades we do on Seattle and Bellevue remodels.
Resin softens with heat, so always use a trivet — no pans straight off the burner. Prolonged direct sunlight can also yellow some lighter quartz, which makes it a poor choice for outdoor kitchens. For those, we steer people toward granite or porcelain.
No. Engineered quartz is non-porous, so it never needs sealing. Warm water and a cleaner keep it looking new.
Do not. The resin binder can scorch or discolor. Use trivets, or choose granite if you want a heat-tolerant surface.
Installed cost depends on the pattern, yardage and edge detail. Simple whites and greys are the most affordable; heavily veined Calacatta patterns cost more. We quote free from your measurements.
